Orotina: located between San José and Jacó, it is also known as the "city of fruits" and is a fast growing town, where there is everything you need like supermarkets, banks and stores, but with more of a tropical/small town feel.
Now with the "Ciudad Colón-Orotina Highway" finally ready Orotina is getting a lot of attention, since this highway reduced the time it takes to get to San José to about 45 minutes. And also now you can get to Escazu's shopping malls, fancy stores and restaurants in 30-35 minutes.
Even though the value of the land in Orotina it's been steadly on the raise it is a more affordable are than Jacó.
Jacó: is a beach town more focused toward tourism with fancy restaurants, surf shops and an active nightlife.
In Jacó you'll find a lot of developments like condominiums in high raises, gated communities, beach front or ocean view properties.
